Catskill Mountain Shakespeare hit the road
for its FIRST EVER traveling tour this spring!
With the support of the prestigious $25,000 grant from Shakespeare in American Communities, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, CMS launched a production of Shakespeare’s iconic play The Tempest and traveled to local middle schools, high schools, arts collectives and other community venues throughout the Catskill region in April 2024.
A performance day that included a study guide, a Q&A session, and optional student workshops led by CMS Teaching Artists was offered aiming to entertain, engage, and connect classical language with modern-day social issues.
